Registration open for Fall 2021 Nebraska Methodology Workshop

Registration is now open for the Fall 2021 Nebraska Methodology Workshop, led by Northwestern University’s Elizabeth Tipton, associate professor of statistics.


The two-day event will be Nov. 4 and 5 is presented by the Nebraska Academy for Methodology, Analytics and Psychometrics.


The Nov. 4 research keynote address will be in the Nebraska Union’s Swanson Auditorium. It is free and open to the public. 


The workshops require registration.


In her research keynote Tipton will reflect on her work as a statistician developing methods to improve the external validity of high internal validity designs. 


In the first of two second-day workshops at the Willa Cather Dining Complex, Red Cloud A room, Tipton will provide an overview of the methods behind the Generalizer, a free web tool that can be used to design sample recruitment plans in education studies, including K-12 and higher education.


The second workshop will provide an overview of best practices in meta-analyses and an introduction to the use of robust variance estimation. Tipton will discuss applications in R software using the clubSandwich and metafor packages.
