Michael Burton, artists talk Nebraska NOW scheduled for January 18, 2020 at Museum of Nebraska Art

Assistant Professor of Practice at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Michael Burton, with is team SaltMarshProductions LLC; creates animated films that “recover visibilities of people who are mostly left out of the cultural and historical record.”  For this exhibition, we look at Anna, a collaborative film based on the true story of a slave who jumped to her freedom in early 19th century Washington, D.C. Artifact from the film and animation process will be viewed in the skylight gallery.

Student Academy of Audiology hosting trivia night fundraiser for HearU Nebraska Feb. 29

The Student Academy of Audiology (SAA) at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln is hosting a Huskers for Hearing Trivia Night Saturday, Feb. 29, at the IBEW Local 265 Banquet Hall in Lincoln. 

Proceeds from the event benefit HearU Nebraska, a non-profit organization that provides hearing aids to children across the state from birth to 18 years of age who may not otherwise be able to afford them.

Anubhuti Students 2020

Each year, the College of Education and Human Sciences Department of Child, Youth and Family Studies sends a handful of students to Anubhuti School in Jalgaon, India for an experience unlike any other. The school is part of a philanthropic extension of Jain Irrigation, and invites students from extreme poverty in Jalgaon to attend school free of cost. CEHS students participate as classroom assistants in various grades, inserting themselves into the school community and observing the learning strategies of the teachers in Jalgaon.

Michael Burton's solo exhibition at Kiechel Fine Art opening reception scheduled for January 10, 2020

Michael Burton’s solo exhibition A Gold Slipper at the Kiechel Fine Arts (1208 “O” Street) is scheduled January 10, 2020 – February 14, 2020.  An opening reception will take place on January 10, 2020 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. with a soprano vocalist singing at 7:00 p.m.

Ann Hilton, Anna Hershberger, Morgan Hilker, Ely Naveja and Alaina Rast are among the students graduating from Nebraska in December 2019. Hilton is receiving her master's degree in special education, while Hershberger, Hilker, Naveja and Rast are graduates of the bachelor's dual-degree program in elementary and special education (K-6).
