Jalisa Winkle has been named the new Global Experiences coordinator for the College of Education and Human Sciences. In her role, Winkle will work within the Global Experiences Office and guide CEHS students through study, internship, research and service-learning opportunities abroad.

Winkle was born and raised in Beatrice, Nebraska, and graduated from Nebraska Wesleyan University. She was accepted into the JET Program to teach English in Mie, Japan, where she taught students from prekindergarten through junior high school. This hands-on experience fueled her love of culture and helped her build a better understanding of her students and their backgrounds. Upon returning to the United States, she worked in Residence Life at SCC-Milford.

“I'm excited to help the students of CEHS experience and learn about new cultures around the world, while gaining valuable experiences that will help them grow personally and professionally,” said Winkle.

Winkle will be based in both Henzlik Hall and Pound Hall, splitting her office presence between the two buildings to support CEHS students.

The Global Experiences Office fosters students’ global awareness and personal, academic, and professional growth by offering a variety of study, internship, research, and service learning opportunities outside the U.S. Students are provided with specialized services and resources before, during, and after their experience abroad.
