Ashley Goodyear graduated in May 2025 with a bachelor's degree in elementary education. She is a native of Lincoln, Nebraska.
Why did you choose the University of Nebraska-Lincoln?
I chose UNL because I am a homegrown Husker. I dreamed of getting my degree from the University of Nebraska my whole life because I wanted to stay in Lincoln, close to my family. I have been a Husker fan my whole life, so it was a dream come true to attend UNL.
What activities and organizations are you involved in on campus?
On campus I was a member of the Husker Cheerleading Squad and Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. Being a part of these offered so many amazing opportunities and introduced me to many great people.
What has been your favorite class and why?
My favorite course was TEAC307. What made this class so special was our professor Trish Gray. She went out of her way to care for every student, making everyone feel seen and heard. I took a lot from this course and highly recommend it to others.
What are your career goals?
This Fall I will be a 5th grade teacher at Morley Elementary! I hope to create a classroom environment where students feel special and supported! I always knew I wanted to teach so I am very excited for this next chapter!
