Sela Rikli is a senior from Murdock, Nebraska, majoring in nutrition, exercise and health science with a minor in entrepreneurship.

Why did you choose the University of Nebraska-Lincoln?
I chose UNL because it felt like home! I knew I'd have countless opportunities to grow both academically and personally while staying close to my hometown. I grew up a Husker fan, so I always knew I wanted to be a Husker!

What activities and organizations are you involved in on campus?
I work at the Campus Rec Center as a group fitness instructor, and I teach cycle classes! I'm also a BioTeam Leader TA for physiology and a member of the Pre-PT Club.

What has been your favorite class and why?
My favorite class has been human physiology with Dr. Hansen. Although it can be a difficult class, Dr. Hansen does an incredible job of making the class engaging and providing resources to help her students succeed (like BioTeams!). I've also really enjoyed my entrepreneurship classes because they've allowed me to step out of my comfort zone and develop soft skills I'll use as a future healthcare provider.

What are your career goals?
In August, I will begin the Doctor of Physical Therapy program at UNMC. After completing the program, I will work as a Physical Therapist! My goal is to eventually open my own clinic to serve Lincoln and the surrounding communities.
