The College of Education and Human Sciences at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln honored 208 undergraduate students who have officially been admitted to their teacher education program during the 2025-26 academic year at the Teacher Education Convocation on April 17 at Carolyn Pope Edwards Hall.

Students were formally recognized during the ceremony and presented with a commemorative pin symbolizing the students’ commitment to the teaching profession.

Marjorie Kostelnik, who served as dean of the College of Education and Human Sciences for 14 years, provided the keynote address for the event.

“Teaching is not merely a job, not merely a profession,” Kostelnik said during the ceremony. "It's a calling. When I look out and I see you, I see hope for the future."

Now in its third year, the Teacher Education Convocation was created to elevate the importance of education and the teaching profession. Held each spring, the ceremony recognizes students admitted into their teacher education program during either the fall or spring semester.
