Amy Brown selected for CEHS Staff Star Award

April 15, 2024

Amy Brown, administrative associate in the Department of Nutrition and Health Sciences , has been selected to receive the latest Staff Star Award by the College of Education and Human Sciences Staff Council.

Brown was nominated for the help and guidance she has provided for others outside of her department.

“Her willingness to share what their department has planned is truly a sign to me of someone who works for the good of the college, rather than just focusing in on their own team,” her nominator wrote.

Brown has been the administrative associate in NHS for nearly eight years, and worked in the University Health Center’s administration office for 17 years prior to that. In her current role, her responsibilities include assisting with the logistics of day-to-day operation of the department, providing administrative support to the Department Chair, facilitating department communications, organizing and coordinating annual faculty and staff performance reviews, supervising Administrative Office staff, and more.

“Amy has always been available for me to schedule a meeting and ask questions related to being a supervisor, or other UNL policies and procedures,” her nominator wrote. “She has been an invaluable asset to me. The fact that she is so willing to help those even outside of her own department demonstrates her outstanding service.”

The Staff Star Award recognizes staff members who go above and beyond their scope of duties. It is awarded to one individual in the college each quarter. Nominations can be submitted at go.unl.edu/cehs-staff-star. The next deadline is April 30.
