Avery Laing is a native of Omaha, Nebraska, pursuing her master's degree in educational administration with a specialization in student affairs administration.

Why did you choose your program in the College of Education and Human Sciences?
I did my undergrad at another institution but was always drawn to UNL. I would come to Greek events and even spoke at UNLs Educators of Color Summit. Choosing UNL for grad school was an easy choice!

What activities and organizations are you involved in on campus?
Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc

What is one thing that has stood out from your experience in CEHS so far?
The resources. CEHS has support for students that my undergraduate institution didn't have to offer.

What is one piece of advice you would share with new or prospective CEHS students?
Ask for help! Everyone here (staff, faculty, and students) wants to support each other.

What are your career goals?
Finish school and start working in higher education in a university system. I hope one day I can work my way up in higher education to the chancellor position.
