Athletic Training Students (ATS) associated with the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Athletic Training Program (UNL ATP) will be exposed to sensitive medical documents and information that will be protected under federal law. The UNL ATP takes the protection of this information very seriously.
All students, both preprofessional and professional, will be required to have training on both Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) prior to attending their first clinical observation and/or clinical education rotation with the UNL ATP.
