To assist preprofessional students during clinical observation, professional students may be asked to serve as mentors. Professional students who serve as mentors will have the following responsibilities to the preprofessional students:
- Assist with the guidance of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Athletic Training Program (UNL ATP) Preceptor establishing a tentative written clinical observation schedule (Appendix D) for the preprofessional student that documents opportunities to obtain the minimum number of observation hours for ATHT 145 and ATHT 146.
- Assisting the preceptor and the preprofessional students with verification the clinical observation assignments associated with ATHT 145 and ATHT 146 have been completed.
- Completing the electronic Preprofessional Student Evaluation (Appendix E) for their assigned preprofessional student.
