Barkley Clinic celebrates 40th year of collaboration with Sertoma Hearing Aid Bank

In the 40 years since the Sertoma Clubs of Nebraska, the Nebraska Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, and the Barkley Speech Language and Hearing Clinic collaborated to create the Sertoma Hearing Aid Bank, more than 5,000 senior citizens across Nebraska have benefited from the partnership.

Michelle Hughes

Michelle Hughes enjoys opportunities for impact in research, teaching at Nebraska

For more than two decades, Michelle Hughes has dedicated her career to studying cochlear implants, particularly the relationship between physiology and perception, as well as the feasibility of providing cochlear implant services through telepractice. When she became an associate professor at Nebraska in 2018, she was ready to shift gears.
