Youth Entrepreneurship Clinic facilitator workshop March 17-19

The Youth Entrepreneurship Clinics team, from Nebraska Extension and College of Education and Human Sciences at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, is providing an experiential workshop for youth entrepreneurship programming to Extension educators and teachers on March 17-19, 2020.

The workshop is designed for educators who wish to teach entrepreneurship and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) to high school aged youth, using real-world business challenges.

Elysa Binger receives CI2020 student scholarship from American Cochlear Implant Alliance

Elysa Binger, a second-year student in the Au.D. program, was one of 19 students from around the world selected for a scholarship to attend CI2020 International: 16th International Conference on Cochlear Implants and Other Implantable Technologies, as announced by the American Cochlear Implant Alliance.

SECD faculty, postdoctoral fellows presenting at Council for Exceptional Children convention

Five individuals from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s Department of Special Education and Communication Disorders are among the presenters at the annual Council for Exceptional Children (CEC) Special Education Convention & Expo Feb. 5-8 in Portland, Oregon.

Associate professor Michael Hebert, professor of practice Sue Kemp, and postdoctoral fellows Angelique Aitken, Jennifer Farley and Dan Poling will each lead at least one presentation during the four-day convention. The full schedule for their sessions is below.

Bullying Prevention: What Current Research Suggests

 

This past November, researchers and practitioners from around the world met in Chicago, Illinois at the annual conference for the International Bullying Prevention Association (IBPA). Among these researchers were our own Dr. Swearer and four graduate student researchers. Attendees brought new research and ideas for bullying prevention to the table, discussing what can be done to effectively address bullying in our schools and communities.
