CEHS’s Dipra Jha connected UNL students with peers 7,500 miles away at The Emirates Academy and Oman Tourism College as part of the Global Virtual Project. The project was supported by the Stevens Initiative which is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State and administered by the Aspen Institute.

Wei Li and Bingnan Mu, Textiles, Merchandising & Fashion Design (TMFD) Ph.D. students have received research grants from the American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists (AATCC) Foundation.

Wei Li. "Completely Stereo-complexed PLA Fibers with Good Dyeability and Retention of Mechanical Properties for Textile Applications." ($2,000).

Bingnan Mu. "Natural Colorants from Sorghum Hulls for Cotton Dyeing." ($1,400).

Students Needed to Volunteer for ScoutREACH

“I really wanted to give back to Scouts because it gave my children an opportunity to learn good values and discipline,” Roz Hussin explains why she wants to give back to Boy Scouts. Hussin is an Instructional Design Specialist for the College of Education and Human Sciences at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She could have sold popcorn or donated money, like most mothers that want to give back to the Scouts. Instead, Hussin became the District Commissioner for the ScoutREACH program.
