Graduate education programs at UNL ranked No. 40 nationally

The University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s graduate education program jumped three spots and is ranked No. 40 in the 2019 U.S. News & World Report national rankings that were announced March 20.

Nebraska graduate education programs are housed in the College of Education and Human Sciences. Programs evaluated for this ranking include master’s, specialist, Ph.D. and Ed.D. degrees in the departments of Child, Youth and Family Studies; Educational Administration; Educational Psychology; Special Education and Communication Disorders; and Teaching, Learning and Teacher Education.

Dinnes aims to fill research gap in writing difficulties after brain injuries

A few years ago, Carly Dinnes thought she was destined to work with children as a speech-language pathologist. Then she was tasked with helping her first adult patient at the clinic and she discovered a passion for helping brain injury survivors regain some of their lost communication skills. Her career path quickly took a different turn.

The College of Education and Human Sciences will again be sending a contingent of faculty and students to present, represent and learn at the annual conference of the American Educational Research Association, April 13-17 in New York City.

A CEHS reception is planned from 5:30-7:30 p.m. April 15 and will include recognition of Ted Hamann, professor of Teaching, Learning and Teacher Education, for receiving an AERA award (to be announced soon).

Sixth Annual Huskers for Hearing 5K set for April 7

The Student Academy of Audiology at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln will host its Sixth Annual Huskers for Hearing 5K Fun Run to benefit HearU Nebraska Saturday, April 7, on East Campus. 

The event will begin at 9 a.m. on the East Campus Loop. In addition to the 5K, there will be a silent auction with items from various area businesses. In addition, for the first time in its history, the Huskers for Hearing 5K features a virtual option for individuals who would like to participate but are unable to attend the event in Lincoln.
