Aaron Johnson, assistant professor of Teaching, Learning and Teacher Education, and colleagues received a National Technology Leadership Initiative’s (NTLI) Technology Paper Award by the College and University Faculty Assembly (CUFA), a research affiliate of the National Council for the Social Studies (NCSS).

Morales to receive Teacher Diversity Research Award from AACTE

Amanda Morales, assistant professor in Teaching, Learning and Teacher Education (TLTE), has been selected for the Teacher Diversity Research Award from the Diversified Teacher Workforce Topical Action Group of the American Association of College for Teacher Education (AACTE). Researchers evaluate rural Nebraska after-school programs

Brainstorm, develop, implement, modify and repeat. As rural Nebraska school districts use this adaptable approach to create after-school programs, a University of Nebraska-Lincoln research team is taking similar steps to evaluate their progress.

The team consists of researchers from the Nebraska Center for Research on Children, Youth, Families and Schools.

They are joining a 30-month project, Expanded Learning Opportunity Design Challenge, which involves Auburn, Beatrice, Boone Central, Centura and Grand Island school districts.

Spring schedule for SECD brown bag sessions set

The Department of Special Education and Communication Disorders is set to host four brown bag sessions at the Barkley Memorial Center during the spring semester, beginning Friday, February 23. The brown bags are intended primarily to allow graduate students to present and respond to research topics, while receiving feedback from those in attendance. 

The brown bag sessions for this semester are listed below. All presentations are scheduled to be held from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. in room 321 of the Barkley Memorial Center.

25 SECD students to participate in NSLHA Student and Legislative Advocacy Day Feb. 14

Ten students in the Au.D. program and 15 students in the speech-language pathology master’s program will take part in the Student and Legislative Advocacy Day sponsored by the Nebraska Speech-Language-Hearing Association (NSLHA) Feb. 14.
