For developing a statewide food website, the Nebraska Extension Food Team has been presented with the Creative Excellence Award from the Joint Council of Extension Professionals and the National Extension Association of Family and Consumer Sciences. The Food Team is composed of Extension Nutrition Specialist Lisa Franzen-Castle, from the Department of Nutrition and Health Sciences, and three Extension Educators.

Nebraska's Chigozie Obioma will read from his novel "The Fishermen," discuss Nigerian culture and society, and sign copies of his book at 5:30 p.m. Nov. 1 in the Human Sciences Building .

The Academy for Child and Family Well Being at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln will be selling popcorn Oct. 24-28 to raise money for the Nebraska Letterbox Club, which sends educational packages to children in Nebraska’s foster care system.
