Badiee to speak March 4 on human rights, peace in Middle East

Mr. Badiee will speak about his life and activism in Iran. He will discuss the years of torture he experienced and the meanings he gleaned from it. He will also discuss Iran's and the Middle East's past, present, and future, and talk about what needs to be done. 

The Ethnic Minority Affairs Committee looks forward to seeing you there.

Terrie Epstein, March 10, 2011: Interpreting National History

In a six year ethnography of a midwestern working class community, the author examined how children’s, adolescents’, and adults’ racial identities and classroom and community pedagogies shaped participants’ interpretations of history and society. Based on research with 100 students, 6 teachers, and 24 parents, the author demonstrates how African American and European American students and adults constructed different perspectives on race relations and individual rights in U.S.history and contemporary society.

"School House Supper and Evening of Fun" Friday, February 25, 2011

CEHS will host the annual “School House Supper and Evening of Fun” on Friday, February 25, 2011. We will feature the top three award winning chilies from the East Campus chili cook-off last fall. There is no set charge, but voluntary donations will be given to the Lincoln Food Bank. Please plan to bring your family and spend the evening. 
  

Chili feed from 5:30-7 P.M. at the East Union 

Bowling at the East Union from 6-9 P.M.

CEHS honorary, Phi Upsilon Omicron, joins fight against cancer

It seems everyone has been touched with cancer either within their families or their friends. This week Phi Upsilon Omicron ( a CEHS honorary) is promoting Daffodil Days with the American Cancer Society. Daffodil Days is one of the oldest and most beloved fund-raising programs of the American Cancer Society. Save America's Treasures Grant Awarded to IQSC & M

The Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) has announced nine Save America’s Treasures grants, including a $25,000 award to TCD’s International Quilt Study Center & Museum. Save America’s Treasures makes critical investments in the preservation of our nation’s most significant and endangered cultural treasures, which illustrate, interpret, and embody the great events, ideas, and individuals that contribute to America’s history and culture.
